"As Chief Law Enforcement Officer and an attorney, I know why it matters who the next Clerk of Courts is for Middlesex. Michael Sullivan is the candidate whose educational and professional background makes the choice perfectly clear. His proven leadership and managerial ability will ensure that the clerk's office will always be run in an effective, efficient and responsible manner."
Martha Coakley, Middlesex District Attorney
Welcome and thank you for stopping by our campaign website. Above you will see a quote from my colleague in government, Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley. Her words are the sum and substance of my candidacy for Clerk of Courts for Middlesex County.
We in Middlesex County are well aware of the importance of the position of Chief Magistrate for the Superior Court Clerk's Office and know only too well the dangers when someone without the requisite skills assumes an elected position in the judicial branch. I have the requisite skills and knowledge to insure that the Clerk of Courts Office in Middlesex County stays both effective and efficient and continues to take advantage of innovative technologies. As we campaign countywide I look forward to meeting you and listening to your concerns about the Clerk's Office and the judicial system.
My education and background in public service makes me uniquely suited for the Clerk's Magistrates job. I am a graduate of Boston College with a degree in Economics and Political Science and Boston College Law School. In my twenty years of public service I have had the distinction as serving as Assistant Clerk Magistrate pro temp, Assistant District Attorney - Middlesex County and Assistant Attorney General assigned to consumer protection division. Also, I am currently serving my seventh term as a Cambridge City Councillor having recently completed two consecutive terms as Mayor of Cambridge. Additionally, I have been associated with a Cambridge law firm for the past nine years. Throughout my career I have worked hard for the rights of the consumer, constituent and victim.
I am grateful being able to serve the citizens of Cambridge and look forward to serving the citizens of Middlesex County as your next Clerk of Courts.
Again thank you for stopping by and I hope the information here is helpful to you. I also appreciate the time and consideration you have given to my candidacy and I look forward to earning and respectfully requesting your vote on Tuesday, September 19, 2006.
